Cons of Living in the States

Safety for Cars & Trucks is better in Canada

Monday, April 27th, 2009

While Canada is more strict regarding the safety of trucks than the States is, some truckers think this is excessive.

I’m torn really, I think trucks should be safe, and according to the merchanic shop I just visited, supposedly all of the US trucks that come into their shop are just terrible compared to Canadian trucks.

Long Distance Rates

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

I don’t know if it’s because the US thinks they are THE only country on the planet (sorry guys, every other country feels you guys feel this way) or what, but the US has terrible long distance rates to other countries.

Almost every time I talk to an American whether it’s for business or socially, they have no clue how much it costs to call Canada. I had one who thought it was the same rate as calling Russia LMAO. I thought he was a moron, but then I found out over the years that the American telecommunications industry really sucks, at least when it comes to long distance rates outside the US.

I have no idea how much it costs to call the UK or other countries outside the US, but I can tell you that in Canada, it’s the same rate per minute to call the US & the UK as it is to call within Canada. Oops, strike that, I see the rates to the US have gone down to 0.0350, but the rate to the UK has stayed the same at 0.050. Still, compared to what Americans pay to call over here unless they happen to have an unlimited plan throughout North America, an American can be paying over a dollar per minute just to call Canada. I think that’s nuts, ludecrous & just downright disrespectful because that shows me that the telecommunications companies don’t think any Americans call Canada. If they thought they were calling, the rates would be roughly the same as ours, so give one point to Canada on this one.

Canada is definitely more open minded than the US

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

Canada is definitely more open minded, I don’t think anyone can dispute that fact.

Canada is known for her strip clubs & how strippers were going bottomless long before the States was.

Canada is very lenient on escorts & escort agencies & even allows licensing in certain Canadian cities.

Canada came this close to legalizing marijuana, but the US bullied Canada into retracting that law, so Canada did.

While Canada wasn’t the first country, on July 20, 2005, Canada became the fourth country in the world to legalize same-sex marriage nationwide with the approval of the Civil Marriage Act.

So for these reasons I love Canada, because the US has SERIOUS issues telling others what they should do with their lives.

Most of it stems from religion, as Americans have been right wing religious fanatics for years.

In fact most of the US looks down upon California which is the only State that is really open minded, & sets precidence for a lot of things all over North America.
